The challenge of the Homestyle Bakes design was to create a package that would define itself as a brand new product category with unique benefits and features, clearly communicating them to the consumer with little or no advertising as a backup. The resulting design made it the best-selling new grocery product of 2001-02. The success of the Homestyle Bakes line later led to the line extension for Dessert Bakes, another successful venture.
